A Sunday Song from Sharon

Hey Sunday Song Fam and Friends,

Most of you probably don’t know that I haven’t always been as huge a fan of gospel music as I am now. Sure, I’ve always liked it. But when my dear father passed away in 1998, I began listening to gospel music exclusively. It brought me much needed comfort, joy and inspiration during a very difficult time.

It wasn’t until last year that God reminded me in a very special way of my love for all types of music.  I’ll tell you more about how that story unfolded in a future blog post, but for now just know that my journey as His Song has led me down memory lane to meet up again with those songs from yesteryear that made me smile, made me dance, and made me dream that the world could be a better place.

Today’s Sunday Song is a remake of Put a Little Love in Your Heart, a classic originally recorded in 1969. The lyrics to this song encourage us to think of our fellow man, lend him a helping hand, and put a little love in our hearts.  Such a needed message for us right about now.

So as you are listening today, take a walk with me down memory lane and fill your heart up with God’s love and let it flow out to the world around you.  Have a wonderful week!

Today’s Sunday Song: Put a Little Love in Your Heart, Troy Sneed

KEY VERSES
Colossians 3:12-14
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
