Hey there Sunday Song Fam and Friends
Hope all is well with you. For those of you who know me well, you know that I’ve had some struggles over the past couple of years. At least that’s how I used to see them, as struggles. But I now see them more as challenges–challenges which I overcame.
Why do I call them challenges instead of struggles now you may be asking. Well, it deals with me having a major breakthrough–not a financial breakthrough, or a health breakthrough, or anything like that.
You see it had more to do with a breakthrough in my perspective. There was a sizable shift for me that enabled me to stand at the top of the mountains I have climbed and to look back over and see what I’ve been through and that I’ve made it, well at least so far–but I know that God has my back.
A shift in perspective–that is huge for me. I say that because as some of you remember, I left my career a few years ago to more actively pursue the call I believe God has on my life (which I thought was just writing and music but now I see it involves much more). Well, while excited about that venture, it has also led me through anxiety, worry, stress and fear as I worried about the future and about whether God would really take care of me as he had showed me. But that’s because I didn’t fully know or trust God as my provider, my Jehovah-Jireh, and now I have really come to know Him as such. And I am content with where he has me right now because I know where he is taking me.
Anyway, I am getting off track. Back to the music! Today’s Sunday Song is full of a little extra flavor for you. It’s called “There’s Hope” by India Arie, and it’s all about changing your perspective on how you view your life. It’s about choosing to thank God for that which you have. It’s about recognizing that there’s hope no matter what you’re going through, good or bad.
I hope that you enjoy this uplifting, feel-good tune and more than anything, I hope it makes you smile!
P.S. As a bonus today, I am including an article that I wrote just after leaving my job a few years ago. It’s called
Work/Life Balance: Putting It into Perspective. It was refreshing to read it again, and I pray that as you read it you may be inspired.

KEY VERSES
Philippians 4:11-12
Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need.
