A Sunday Song from Sharon

Hey Sunday Song Fam and Friends,

Today is Palm Sunday, which is the beginning of the most holy week of the year.  This is the day that Jesus made his Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem.  The Bible tells us in Matthew 21:9:  The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted, “Hosanna to the Son of David!”  “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”  “Hosanna in the highest heaven!”  All praise and honor was given to him as the awaited King.

Yet, just several days later Jesus would be humiliated, suffer and die for us–a total blow in the opposite direction of Palm Sunday.  Yet thankfully the story does not end there, and because it doesn’t, we joyously celebrate Easter.

But that’s next Sunday.   Today, let us remember the celebrated Triumphal Entry with a song that so ties in with the cries of “Hosanna” that were shouted all those years ago.  And as you journey throughout this Holy Week, may you remember and reflect on the steps He took from Palm Sunday up through the crucifixion on Good Friday and on to the blessed resurrection.

Today’s Sunday Song:  Oh Magnify the Lord (The Convergence Project), Bishop AJ Wright

Key Verses:  Matthew 21:9, Psalm 34:3
